Traineeships

Professional & Technical Development Ltd, in collaboration with Job Centre Plus, are pleased to be able to offer a range of individual training courses tailored to meet your needs through the Welsh Assembly Government’s Skill Build for Adults programme.

This programme is aimed at students who are aged 18+ and who (usually) are claiming Job Seekers Allowance and are referred via the Job Centre.

We currently offer Skill Build for Adults courses in the following areas:

• Business and Administration
• Information Technology
• Customer Service
• Team Leading

We also offer additional support and tuition for literacy and numeracy, helping learners to work towards and achieve the Essential Skills Wales qualifications in Communications, Application of Number and ICT.

Our Skill Build for Adults courses are designed to provide learners with the key personal and employability skills and qualifications they need to enable them to effectively enter the labour market and retain sustainable employment.

To qualify for a place on the Adult Skill Build Programme you must be registered with Job Centre Plus and be receiving one of several qualifying benefits. Once we receive notification that you are eligible we will endeavour to create a programme that meets your vocational or educational needs and secure a work placement to run alongside your course if appropriate.

There are no special entry requirements (though eligibility must be confirmed by the Job Centre) and all students attend an informal interview with us prior to starting the course so that we can discuss their individual requirements and circumstances.

Funding is also available to cover child care provision for lone-parents and the cost of travelling can also be partly covered.
