Meet May: a learner case study
May had worked as a General Sales Manager at MFI for over 20 years. When the company went into administration, and her store closed, May found herself being made redundant.
She had concerns about only ever having used the company’s internal computer systems and knew that good IT skills would be advantageous in securing any future employment.
May came to Professional & Technical Development Ltd to find out about Re-Act training and whether she could use it to help her develop her existing IT skills as well as learn some new ones.
Luckily, May was eligible for full funding to re-train and used Re-Act to complete her European Computer Driving License (E.C.D.L) at Professional & Technical Development Ltd. As well as gaining new computer skills, May's confidence improved and she even made some new friends doing the course. May has since returned to work as Regional Support Manager for another national company, Travelex. She believes her new found IT skills definitely helped her to secure the role and has since returned to Professional & Technical Ltd (on one of our work based learning programmes) to undertake a Higher Apprenticeship in Management.

"I have found the staff very approachable and friendly, and I found my tutor very helpful and understanding. It has boosted my confidence and made the computer less intimidating".
"I can recommend this course to anybody who needs to improve their computer skills".
